So I wonder, if you put enough rubber bands around someone’s head…

THIS WEBSITE IS MADE UP OF PSYCHOPATHS AND DRUGGIES I SWEAR

this is what you’re getting yahoo. this is what you’re getting.

I think the best part is the broken fruit already on the table. This isn’t the first time they did it.

Cakes have gotten a bad rap. People equate virtue with turning down dessert. There is always one person at the table who holds up her hand when I serve the cake. No, really, I couldn’t she says, and then gives her flat stomach a conspiratorial little pat. Everyone who is pressing a fork into that first tender layer looks at the person who declined the plate, and they all think, That person is better than I am. That person has discipline. But that isn’t a person with discipline; that is a person who has completely lost touch with joy. A slice of cake never made anybody fat. You don’t eat the whole cake. You don’t eat a cake every day of your life. You take the cake when it is offered because the cake is delicious. You have a slice of cake and what it reminds you of is someplace that’s safe, uncomplicated, without stress. A cake is a party, a birthday, a wedding. A cake is what’s served on the happiest days of your life. This is a story of how my life was saved by cake, so, of course, if sides are to be taken, I will always take the side of cake.

WISHBONE!!!!!!!

my dad used to be the vice president of the PBS station in Dallas (KERA) and one time during a fund raiser HE MADE ARRAIGNMENTS FOR WISHBONE TO MAKE AN APPEARANCE AND I GOT TO BE THERE I GOT TO MEET WISHBONE AND THEN I GOT A FREE WISHBONE PLUSH THAT I STILL HAVE IT WAS MAGICAL

One of my proudest moments was sitting next to Mo Rocca at an Event Dinner, and he was talking about his experience writing for Wishbone, and he said, kind of derisively, that initially the show was supposed to be about a bulldog who taught kids about jazz. He seemed really disgusted by the idea.

“Right,” I said. “Everybody knows bulldogs prefer ska.”

He snorted into his dinner, and I learned that the only thing I really like in this world is to make people who make me laugh, laugh.

The exquisite Hedy Lamarr at 19 in her first film, in that famous scene from Extase (1933).  Beauty and art at its finest. Not to mention a hell of a debut.

“It’s a near-masterpiece, an unmistakable work of the heart, a one-of-a-kind movie that treats female sexuality with both respect and enthusiasm. It’s a movie that loves women and presents love and sex as inextricably intertwined and in harmony with life and nature.”
